About Western Towers

Wilbur Anderson founded a two-way radio company in 1945. As his service area expanded, so did his need for communication towers. Wilbur began his search for tower manufacturers and found they all had similar problems: the towers were too expensive; the lead times were too long; the quality was questionable.

Wilbur viewed these problems as a personal challenge rather than a business-limiting setback. In the true pioneer spirit found in many Texas entrepreneurs, he set out to design his own line of towers. The first models were fabricated in a small garage behind the radio shop and Western Towers was born.

In the decades since, Western Towers has grown into a full-service communication tower company with thousands of towers installed across the United States and has fulfilled the tower needs of some of the nation’s top organizations.
